As of March 2018, Moderna Therapeutics is trading for about $4.18 per share. Shares plummeted 40% on January 4th after the company said it will soon be outspending its cash reserves by as much as approximately $800 million a year.,
Moderna is a company that has been around since the late 1800s. The company says its low, but I’m not sure how they got there.
After interim results from the company’s trials showed some efficacy against infections during the Omicron wave and no new safety concerns, Moderna says it will ask the Food and Drug Administration to approve two kid-sized doses of its COVID-19 vaccine for children under the age of six.
Vaccine effectiveness was 37.5 percent in children aged 2 to 6, and 43.7 percent in children aged 6 months to 2 years, according to the firm. Clinical study participants’ blood samples revealed that the vaccination elicited a “robust neutralizing antibody response in both age groups.”
“Given the urgent need for a COVID-19 vaccination in newborns and young children, we are working with the US FDA and authorities throughout the world to submit these data as quickly as possible,” said Stéphane Bancel, Moderna’s CEO, in a statement announcing the new findings.

Moderna will also submit data to the FDA for vaccinating older age groups of children, according to Bancel. The vaccination from Moderna is presently accessible for everyone aged 18 and above.
The FDA has been holding up the company’s request to vaccinate teenagers with two 100 microgram doses, the same as adults, for months due to worries of uncommon heart inflammatory adverse effects. For younger children, the immunization dosage is just 25 micrograms. Moderna also intends to research a booster dosage in youngsters.
Pfizer and BioNTech announced a month ago that results from their COVID-19 vaccination studies for the youngest age groups will be delayed due to poor evidence against Omicron from two kid-sized doses of their vaccine. The results of three doses of such vaccination will be released “in early April.”
Following FDA approval and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which must also sign off on eligibility, the Biden administration expected to send out about 10 million doses in February.
“Unfortunately, it was discovered that that regimen was not adequate enough to give what was felt to be an appropriate or optimal immune response with protection, and so it looks like this will almost certainly be a three-dose vaccine for children in that age cohort, and that’s the reason why it’s taking so long, as it were,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical adviser, at a Washington Post event on Tuesday.
The FDA had scheduled to meet with its outside experts on February 15 to evaluate the advantages and hazards of BioNTech and Pfizer’s request. In two weeks, the same committee, the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, will meet to consider COVID-19 vaccine booster injections.
According to CDC statistics, millions of children under the age of five have contracted COVID-19, with over 400 deaths.
“Certainly, the FDA wants to get things right, as they usually do. As a result, when they approve anything, one may be certain that it is both effective and safe “According to Fauci.
