A blog post about the causes and fixes for a variety of issues, such as how to fix your computer, what to do when you’re feeling down, and how to make your friends feel better.
The cause of the issue is a problem that has been present for a while. Google has released 9 fixes to fix the issue.
There’s no doubting that Now TV is an excellent service to have on hand, but it can sometimes suffer from streaming problems, which can be a real headache when trying to watch your favorite shows. It’s a pay-as-you-go service that lets you pay just for the services you utilize, which sets it apart from the competitors.
Have you been having problems? We’re assuming you have since you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t! So buckle up and join us as we investigate the Now TV streaming quality problems, as well as their origins and solutions.
Compatibility and Plans
Before we proceed any further, it’s critical to understand the many variables that may be causing our streaming problems. If your television screen looks anything like the one in the image above, you’ll want to pay special attention to the following section.
Now TV’s streaming service is available in 720p resolution. This is clearly not the greatest quality, and it often results in soft edges and colors that aren’t as vivid as they might be. If you want 1080p resolution, you’ll have to spend a little more for the Now TV Boost.
You should be able to watch and stream your programs on up to three TVs at the same time, as well as stream your favorite sports at a decent 50 frames per second. This is also compatible with the other passes available, including Entertainment, Cinema, and Kids.
You may also use your selected pass to watch your programs on the TV, a laptop or console, or even your mobile phone! This is fantastic news for everyone, but it may have an impact on the quality of the programs you’re viewing, depending on the device you’re using. Certain older tech guys can only stream in 720p, and although some set-top boxes and sticks may be compatible with the Now TV service, there are a handful of non-compatible gadgets (below).
Panasonic, Samsung Serif Range, Sony, Toshiba Smart TVs
Chromebooks are laptops that run on Google Chrome.
Windows Phone and Kindle Fire Tablets are examples of mobile phones.
Nintendo Wii is a video game system created by Nintendo (or older consoles)
Both Mac and PC users, as well as all previous devices, will be unable to stream at 1080p, and will instead be limited to 720p. A list of items that do not support 1080p streaming may be seen below.
EETV, Apple TV, and other smart TVs
1st and 2nd Generation Chromecast
Smartphones and tablets based on Android and iOS
Xbox One and PlayStation 3 are two popular gaming consoles.
Your connection speeds play an important role in your Now TV watching experience! This aspect is often missed, leading consumers to think their problem is with their set-top box or stick when it is, in reality, with their bad internet.
Restarting the app is the first solution.
Restarting the program is perhaps the simplest and most apparent solution that most users will attempt initially. However, you may attempt to resume the show by exiting it and then choosing it again to reload it. If this does not work, shut the Now TV app completely, wait a few seconds, and then resume it. You may also reinstall the program after deleting it.
Fix #2 – Make sure you’re connected to the internet.
So your Now TV is still having problems. The next step is to verify your internet connection. As previously said, good internet is required for excellent streaming quality. Even a sporadic internet connection is enough to create problems.
You can check your internet speeds online in seconds with a simple Google search, and the minimum speed you should be aiming for, provided you have a broadband connection, is 2.5 Mbp (preferable). If you’re utilizing data, aim for a minimum of 450 Kbps on 3G, 4G, or 5G. You’re going to have a terrible time if it’s less than that.
If you’re new to Now TV, it’s even simpler to verify the problem: just go to Technical Checks and input your information to see if there are any problems impacting your local networks.
Fix #3 – Reposition the hub
This change is very simple and shouldn’t need any explanation. Moving your WiFi hub to a non-interfering location is essential for keeping a robust internet connection across your home. If you have a WiFi hub, you can even relocate your Now TV box closer to it to improve the connection.
Fix #4 – Set a time limit on how much time you spend on the internet.
Did you realize that the more devices you connect to your WiFi hub, the slower it becomes? It may seem self-evident, but the more gadgets sucking up the signal from your internet connection, the slower everything becomes. Place your phone or laptop on the table and check if your Now TV streaming problems improve.
Fix #5 – Restart the computer.
Occasionally, the problem is caused by the gadget itself. This may happen for a variety of reasons, but it’s fortunately very simple to repair. Follow these instructions to hard reset your Now TV box or Stick (this does not apply if you’re using the app on a Smart TV, computer, or phone).
- Go to system, then settings.
- Select Advanced system options from the drop-down menu. You should be familiar with the picture above.
- At the top of the list, choose Factory reset.
- On the screen, enter the four-digit code. In this case, you’d have to type in 0550.
Once your device has completed the hard reset, you will be asked to set it up again. This is simple and takes no time at all.
Fix #6: Organize your data settings
There’s one more thing you may do if you’re still experiencing problems. This will need the usage of your remote to manage your data settings. Follow the instructions below to modify your settings/bitrate. It may seem odd at first, but if you follow the instructions exactly, you’ll arrive at your destination.
- Five times press the Home button.
- Three times press the Rewind button.
- Double-click the Fast Forward button on your remote.
- The bitrate choices should now be visible. Choose Automatic.
Overview of Causes and Solutions
Hopefully, by the time you get to this part, you’ve figured out how to solve your Now TV streaming problems. It may be aggravating, but keep in mind that you’re not alone and that this is a pretty frequent problem. Consider calling their technical support hotline if the issue continues. It’s possible that you’ll need a new box or stick.
