The Genshin Impact series is a 2D fighting game with an emphasis on high damage, combo-based fighting. In this guide I will go over the best teams to use in each tier and provide some tips for anyone looking to improve their own team composition.
Teyvat’s universe in Genshin Impact is enormous, with riches and difficulties tucked away in every corner and cranny. Exploring and conquering it will take a formidable band of adventurers, and with 42 characters to pick from, it might be difficult to put one together. As a result, we’ll be focusing on Genshin Impact’s current strongest teams. We’ll go through the best compositions and builds for assembling the ideal squad. We’ve got everything here, from the most meta builds to the greatest free-to-play friendly ones.
We’ll go through what to anticipate from each squad, what things to seek for, and possible stand-in characters if someone is unavailable.
Let’s get this party started.

Inazuma’s Eternity (Raiden Shogun, Kujou Sara, Kazuha, Bennett)
The Electro Archon, the ultimate battery, is our number one option for the finest team comp in Genshin Impact! The Raiden Shogun is the squad’s focal point, having been enhanced to the point where she can butcher everything in a single burst cycle while still giving enough energy regen for the whole team to do it all over again.

Before we begin, it’s worth noting that having Kujou Sara at C6 to boost Raiden’s crit damage into the sky is required for optimum effectiveness with this team composition. This team combination will still function if you don’t have Kujou at that constellation level, but it won’t hit as hard.
You must first charge Raiden’s burst with your other teammates’ bursts in order to get the most damage out of it. The purple circle surrounding an ally will fill up each time an ally uses their burst. When it’s completely glowing, it means the Raiden’s burst will be at its most powerful.
You’ll be able to plan ahead and know precisely when you can execute the enemy after you’ve become acclimated to how much of the circle each burst takes up.
Because this comp is focused on electro damage, you may have some problem dealing with Electro-immune foes, but using Bennett and Kazuha should let you deal with them easily.
Teammates:
- Kujou Sara: As one would assume from the Raiden’s most fervent admirer, she lives exclusively to enhance her assault as much as possible. You’ll mostly utilize her skill and burst to supply the rest of the group with attack boosts and energy recovery. If everything is set up perfectly, her blast will be incredibly powerful. It should be noted that after utilizing her talent to gather energy, you must strike an adversary with a charged shot. If you have her at C6, you may increase Raiden’s Electro crit damage by 60%.
- Kazuha: For this squad, the roaming swordsman acts as the ultimate Swirl trigger, shredding elemental resistances so Raiden can attack even harder. More significantly, he gathers all of your adversaries so that no one else’s is affected.
- Bennett: As with all past teams containing Bennett, you’re utilizing his burst to keep the team alive while also bolstering everyone’s assault. However, in this team competition, you’ll be bursting at the seams to power up Raiden’s circle on a regular basis. You’ll also be in charge of defeating Electro opponents, or at least preparing Kazuha to do so.

Substitutions:
- Kujou Sara: To activate Electro Resonance, you’ll need another Electro user. Unfortunately, there are no viable options to boosting Raiden.
- Lisa: Thrilling Tales buff and elemental resistance shred are both available from Lisa.
- Keqing: Highly spammable burst synergizes well with this squad, however energy regen is fairly redundant.
- Kazuha: You’re seeking for another anemo user who can utilize the VV artifact set shred and trigger swirl. You’re a little constrained in this team competition since it relies around bursts.
- Venti: The best option, considering that his blast achieves the same thing.
- Sucrose: She’s viable, but she’s not normally designed with energy regeneration in mind, making her less spammable.
- Bennett: Once again, Bennie lad and his buffs are irreplaceable.
Strategy:
We’ll assume you have no charge for Raiden’s circle at the start.

- Deploy Raiden and make advantage of her abilities.
- Change to Bennett and make advantage of his burst.
- Switch to Kazuha and activate his ability right away (plus the plunge attack).
- When he lands, activate his burst.
- Change to Kujou and activate her blast.
- Switch to Raiden and utilize her burst right away.
- While Raiden’s blast is active, destroy everything (4 normal attacks into 2 charged attacks, then 2 normal attacks into 1 charged attack is ideal).
- Switch to Bennett and use his talent to activate Overload.
- Switch to Kazuha and make advantage of his ability (with plunge attack).
- Switch to Bennett and make advantage of his talent.
- Switch to Kujou and activate her skill, then power up your weapon.
- Switch back to Bennett and make advantage of his ability.
- Around this time, burst rotations should be accessible again.

National Team Competition (Xiangling, Xingqiu, Chongyun, Bennett)
In Genshin Impact, one of the simplest and greatest F2P teams consists of four extremely accessible characters that most senior players will have a copy of. An very versatile squad with extensive elemental coverage, easy-to-pull-off high-damage combinations, and everything required to withstand any assault.
Image courtesy of HGG / Jeffrey Hsu / miHoYo
Xiangling, and the ridiculous amounts of constant AoE damage she can put out with her burst, is the team’s cornerstone. She may easily perform back-to-back elemental reactions with the appropriate team, generating enough energy to explode again as soon as the previous one is completed. She’s not even required to be on the field for half of the time!
You’ll be able to consistently allow Xiangling to trigger Melt and Vaporize for loads of damage between Xingqiu and Chongyun. Alternatively, you may use Freeze responses to lock down the adversary and get as much breathing space as possible.
Finally, Bennett gives all-encompassing assistance, allowing you to take on any task in the game and triumph. Even the Abyss’ greatest level will succumb to this challenge.
Teammates:
- Xingqiu is the finest character in the game for inflicting the Wet condition on adversaries. You’ll always have his rain swords on standby to give damage mitigation and healing to the squad, thanks to his skill and burst. He’ll activate it if you need to Vaporize or Freeze the adversary.
- Chongyun: When he uses his ability, the field turns icy cold. All of your strikes will be speedier and infused with Cyro as long as you battle in it, which is ideal for triggering Melt while Xiangling’s burst is active (or with Guoba). If Chongyun is at C2, he decreases the CD on all party members’ skill/burst abilities, allowing you to spam even more abilities.
- Bennett: One of the strongest supports in the game, he’s here to activate the Pyro Resonance and help Xiangling strike even harder thanks to his burst’s damage increase. Activate Bennett’s burst first whenever Xiangling’s burst is available. Keep his burst on standby for healing if you’re worried about dying from damage.
Builds:
Character | Weapon | Set of Artifacts | Figures of Interest | Priority of sub-statistics |
---|---|---|---|---|
Xiangling | 1. Lightning that engulfs you The Catch [R5] is number two. 3. Spine of the Sky 4. Battle Royale | Noblesse Oblige + Crimson Witch of Flames (2) (2) | Goblet: Pyro DMG Circlet: Crit Rate/DMG Sands: ATK percent or Energy Recharge | 1. Recharge your batteries 2. DMG/Crit Rate 4. Elementary Mastery 3. ATK percent 5. ATK that is flat |
Xingqiu | 1. Sword of Sacrifice 2. Sword of Favonius | Severed Fate Emblem (4) | Hydro DMG: Sands: Energy Recharge Goblet Crit Rate/DMG (circled) | 1. DMG/Crit Rate 2. The percentage of ATK 3. Recharge your energy (prioritize if you’re unable to burst off cooldown) 4. Mastery of the Elements 5. ATK that is flat |
Chongyun | 1. Gravestone of the Wolf Serpent Spine No. 2 3. Sea-Lord of Luxury [R5] 4. Archaic Prototype | Gladiator’s Finale + Blizzard Strayer (2) (2) | Goblet: Cryo DMG Sands: ATK percent Crit Rate/DMG (circled) | 1. DMG/Crit Rate 2. The percentage of ATK 3. Mastery of the Elements 4. Recharge your batteries 5. ATK that is flat |
Bennett | 1. Reforged Mistsplitter 2. Favonia Aquila 3. Blade of the Sky 4. Unsatisfied Desire 5. Rancour prototype | Oblige Noblesse (4) | Pyro DMG: Sands: Energy Recharge Goblet Crit Rate/DMG (circled) | 1. DMG/Crit Rate 2. The percentage of ATK 3. Recharge your energy (prioritize if you’re unable to burst off cooldown) 4. Mastery of the Elements |
Substitutions:
- Xingqiu: Replacing Xingqiu is difficult owing to his usefulness, as it was with the previous team comp. Even more so when you consider Barbara is the only other 4 star Hydro user (and she’s not the best person to set up Xiangling’s burst coverage).
- Beidou: To synergize with Xiangling, you must sustain Beidou’s burst, but you may build up a lot of Overload responses this way. Simply be ready to pursue the opponent when they are catapulted by the explosion.
- Electro Traveler: Your mission is to keep your allies charged up and Xiangling’s burst ready to go.
- Chongyun: You do have some possibilities, even if no one else can recreate a permanent field that responds well to Pyro.
- Aloy: We’re considering her as simple to get since she’s given out for free. With Xiangling’s burst, you can set up a bunch of Cryo applications that are spread out enough to trigger Melt numerous times.
- Kaeya: His burst works really well with Xiangling’s burst, but if you’re not constructed correctly, you could be a little short on energy.
- Bennett: As previously indicated, the Bennie boy and the buff he provides are irreplaceable.
Strategy:
This squad, unlike the others, is considerably more open-ended in terms of what you can achieve.
Image courtesy of HGG / Jeffrey Hsu / miHoYo
- Begin with Xingqiu, who can trigger rain blades with his talent.
- Switch to Bennett and construct a buff field with his blast.
- Change to Xiangling and make advantage of her blast.
- While Xiangling’s burst is active, switch to Chongyun and utilize his talent to create a Cryo field and begin practicing Freeze and Melt responses.
- Switch to Xiangling and utilize her skill to auto-attack while Guoba is deployed someplace suitable.
- Should be able to cycle through everyone’s burst once more.
3/4
Discount at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor (Hu Tao, Xingqiu, Zhongli, Albedo)
This squad will be based on Hu Tao, who will be putting your foes to an early demise with back-to-back Pyro reactions, as the name indicates. She’s largely regarded as one of the strongest DPS characters in the game, but her playstyle is high-risk, high-reward.
Image courtesy of HGG / Jeffrey Hsu / miHoYo
To maximize Hu Tao’s damage, maintain her under 50 percent health at all times to trigger her second passive’s damage increase. It’s not too tough, considering her talent requires 30% of your current HP to activate.
Naturally, this means you’re always at danger of being insta-killed by a powerful opponent strike. Teammates who can offer shields and damage mitigation are particularly essential in preventing this.
Hu Tao’s burst will heal her a good amount for each opponent hit, so you don’t need a dedicated healer.
You’ll also need someone on the squad who can provide Wet or Cryo status on the adversary on a regular basis so Hu Tao may use elemental reactions on them.
Because Hu Tao’s talent applies Pyro to all of her attacks, and her charge attack has no internal cooldown, this is the case (ICD). As a result, she can use Pyro as much as she can charge attack.
Teammates:
- Hu Tao’s ability to do so much harm is due to Xingqiu. Hu Tao may continually triggering Vaporize responses since the rain swords he makes with his skill and burst repeatedly apply the Wet state to foes. They also give damage mitigation and minor heals to keep Hu Tao alive while he is still under 50% HP.
- Zhongli – Isn’t it just right that an employee ensures the success of his boss? Zhongli’s primary job on the squad is to use his shield as often as possible. It not only absorbs the most damage in the game, but it also decreases adjacent foes’ elemental resistance by 20%. Plus, you may use his blast to stun and chunk foes’ health bars anytime you choose.
- Albedo is a fantastic off-field DPS character. Swap back to Hu Tao after using his talent and burst if it’s up (damage + elemental mastery bonus for the team). He’s mostly in the squad to provide additional damage and to activate Geo Resonance.
Builds:
Character | Weapon | Set of Artifacts | Figures of Interest | Priority of sub-statistics |
---|---|---|---|---|
Hu Tao | 1. Homa’s staff 2. The Bane of the Dragon 3. Tassel in White | Flames’ Crimson Witch (4) | Goblet: Pyro DMG Circlet: Crit Rate/DMG Sands: HP percent or Elemental Mastery | 1. DMG/Crit Rate 2. Mastery of the Elements 3. ATK percentage 4. HP percentage 5. Recharge your batteries |
Zhongli | 1. Tassel in black Favonius Lance, No. 2 | The Millelith’s tenacity (4) | HP percent sands HP percent goblet HP percent circlet | 1. The percentage of HP 2. Low HP 3. Recharged Energy |
Albedo | 1.Dawn’s Harbinger | Noblesse Oblige + Archaic Petra (2) (2) | DEF percent in the sands Geo DMG or DEF percent goblet Crit Rate/DMG or DEF percent (circled) | 1. DMG/Crit Rate 3. Energy Recharge 2. DEF percent 4. DEF that is flat |
Substitutions:
- Xingqiu: Only Xingqiu is capable of setting up Hu Tao. If you don’t have him, look for someone who can apply an elemental effect continually while off-field.
- Fischl: All you have to do now is use her ability to apply Electro to all adjacent foes. The Overload response, on the other hand, pales in contrast.
- Barbara: Her talent, like Xingqiu’s, produces an aura that applies Hydro to adjacent foes. It is, however, slower in contrast and may repair Hu Tao by more than 50%.
- Mona’s ability generates a taunt that pulses every few seconds, applying the Wet state to all around opponents.
- Zhongli: Anyone who can make a shield is okay, but you’ll have to give up his resistance shred and Geo Resonance in the process (probably).
- Noelle is the closest substitute, has the ability to heal, and can keep the Geo Resonance.
- Diona: Shield application is a little slower since you have to use her talent to strike the adversary, but you may apply Cryo status.
- Thoma: Pyro Resonance is enabled, but his shield isn’t as powerful.
- If you’re running Zhongli, any Geo character might potentially replace them for Geo Resonance.
- Geo Traveler: Their burst offers teammates inside its jurisdiction a crit rate, which is ideal for Hu Tao.
Strategy:
Image courtesy of HGG / Jeffrey Hsu / miHoYo
- Reduce Hu Tao’s HP to the point that she can use her talent without losing more than 50% of her health.
- To apply shield, switch to Zhongli and hold skill.
- Switch to Albedo and apply his passive damage field with his talent.
- Switch to Xingqiu and make rain swords with his burst/skill (constantly applying Wet status to enemies).
- Return to Hu Tao and utilize her ability to infuse Pyro into all of her strikes.
- Convert two standard attacks into a charge attack while her skill is active. To stop the delay animation, jump. Simply spam charge attacks if you have C1 Hu Tao.
- Use Hu Tao’s burst before it expires to increase your damage and heal.
- If you have time, go through everyone else’s burst to take advantage of Hu Tao’s initial passive crit.
- Reapply buffs as needed and keep going until all foes have been defeated.
4/4
The Vaporize Nuke is dropped by Fate (Mona, Bennett, Sucrose, Yanfei)
One of the greatest teams in Genshin Impact for one-shotting your opponents and doing massive amounts of damage. Mona’s ruptured bubble must be amplified before it may be popped for immediate win in this competition.
Image courtesy of HGG / Jeffrey Hsu / miHoYo
While Mona is required, she is the team’s lone 5 star requirement. Otherwise, you may get away with simply having Bennett, but each additional character adds another layer of damage to the bomb.
Before we go into the team’s makeup, it’s vital to understand Mona’s burst, which may be a little complicated.
When you cast it, adjacent opponents will be struck by the bubble and will get the Wet state. Any elemental reaction that would usually happen is triggered, but the harm is postponed.
When another attack hits affected foes, the “bubble” pops, delivering additional damage from the popping attack, triggering the first elemental reaction damage, and amplifying all subsequent damage for 8 seconds.
Still perplexed? Don’t worry; after you’ve tried it a few times and followed the strategy part below, you’ll understand. First, let’s take a look at our colleagues.
Teammates:
- Bennett: The game’s finest damage amplifier and the most crucial partner in making this combo work. Depending on their HP, his burst produces a sphere that heals or offers a tremendous attack boost to all friends inside it (keep Mona above 70 percent HP or have Bennett at C1 to ignore this condition). He’ll help Mona’s assault, set up the enormous Vaporize response, then break the bubble with a second Vaporize.
- Sucrose is the nuke’s next layer. Sucrose is one of the greatest anemo characters to use the Viridescent Venerer (VV) artifact set’s resistance shred on since she also buffs Mona’s Elemental Mastery (EM).
- Yanfei: The icing on the cake in terms of harm. Yanfei is just here to activate Pyro Resonance and give Mona the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers boost (catalyst weapon). Klee is similarly effective if you have her, but since Yanfei is a 4 star, most players are more likely to have her.
Builds:
Character | Weapon | Set of Artifacts | Figures of Interest | Priority of sub-statistics |
---|---|---|---|---|
Mona | The Widsith is the first thing that comes to mind. 2. Atlas of the Sky Solar Pearl is number three. Mappa Mare is number four. | Severed Fate Emblem (4) | Goblet: Hydro DMG or ATK percent or Energy Recharge or Elemental Mastery Crit Rate/DMG (circled) | 1. DMG/Crit Rate 2. Bennett | 1. Reforged Mistsplitter 2. Favonia Aquila 3. Blade of the Sky 4. Unsatisfied Desire 5. Rancour prototype | Oblige Noblesse (4) | Pyro DMG: Sands: Energy Recharge Goblet Crit Rate/DMG (circled) | 1. DMG/Crit Rate 2. The percentage of ATK 3. Recharge your energy (prioritize if you’re unable to burst off cooldown) 4. Mastery of the Elements |
Sucrose | 1. Fragments of Sacrifice 2. Mastery of the Elements 2. The percentage of ATK 3. DMG/Crit Rate 4. Recharge your batteries |
Yanfei | 1. Thrilling Dragon Slayer Tales | Irrelevant | Irrelevant | Irrelevant |
Substitutions:
- Bennett: No one can take Bennie’s position.
- Sucrose: What matters is that you use the VV artifact set resistance shred. Most other Anemo users will function, but Sucrose provides Mona with additional elemental mastery.
- Venti: Does the same effect as Sucrose, except instead of elemental mastery, it offers energy recovery.
- Kazuha: Almost identical to Sucrose, but more difficult to find.
- Yanfei: Her primary purpose is to apply the Thrilling Tales boost, hence any catalyst user will suffice.
- Klee, like Yanfei, grants Pyro Resonance and the catalyst bonus.
Strategy:
Image courtesy of HGG / Jeffrey Hsu / miHoYo
- Let’s begin with Yanfei (equipped with Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers).
- Switch to Mona and use a basic attack to apply Hydro on the target.
- Switch to Sucrose and activate the Swirl reaction using her talent.
- Sucrose should not be switched off until the Swirl reaction procs in order to trigger the VV artifact set benefit.
- To take advantage of Sucrose’s boost, the remainder of this must be completed promptly (8 seconds).
- Switch to Bennett and break out laughing.
- Return to Mona and explode right away.
- Wait 2 seconds for the internal cooldown (ICD – so you may use Pyro to trigger Vaporize again) as Mona (to keep the Bennett burst benefit).
- Switch to Bennett and use his talent to attack the adversary to activate Vaporize.
- Because of the damage, the adversary should be dead. If not, gather enough energy from Mona and Bennett to repeat the combination.
The combination rotation may take a few attempts to get accustomed to. You want to do it quickly enough to benefit from Sucrose’s bonus, but not so fast that the ICD resets.
If you’re still having trouble, try adding each ingredient one at a time. Begin with Bennett alone, then progress to Sucrose, and finally to Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers.
